Mr. Moreno received his Bachelor's Degree in Music from California State University Fullerton where he was a part of the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble I, jazz combo, trumpet ensemble, and pep band.   After CSUF he received his teaching credential from the University of La Verne.  In 2013 Mr. Moreno received his Master's Degree in Music with an emphasis on wind conducting from Azusa Pacific University where he studied with Dr. Donavon Gray.

As an educator Mr. Moreno has left his mark on hundreds of students from all walks of life.  He began his teaching career at Mountain View HS in El Monte.  At Mountain View he helped to revitalize the music program while helping the program to grow in numbers and quality.  Many students from those bands went on to major in music and several are still involved in music to this day including several music educators.   Besides traditional wind ensemble music Mr. Moreno helped to create a unique and popular latin jazz ensemble perfroming throughout Southern California and even being featured on a local Los Angeles TV show.

After Mountain Mr. Moreno returned "home" to the Ontario / Riverside area where he taught several successful years at Patriot High School.   While at Patriot the marching band program thrived and won two SCSBOA championships as well as a 2nd place finish at state WBA championships.    Besides marching band the colorguard and drumline programs also thrived under the leadership of top notch instructors and design staff.   During this time Mr. Moreno also formed the Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps from Riverside.  The Watchmen was an independent non profit organization that  gave students who might not have the chance to march the opportunity to be a part of something special while keeping fees and time committments low.  Many students from the Watchmen went on to march world class drum corps and become instructors and teachers in their own right.

After getting married his time in Riverisde came to an end and the Moreno family moved up the high desert where Mr. Moreno resumed duties as the music director at Barstow Community College and Oak Hills High School.   During his time at Oak Hills the music program has been one of the largest and most successful in the high desert producing such as ensembles as marching band, 2 concert bands, 2 jazz bands, winterguard, percussion ensemble, and a highly popular mariachi ensemble.  This time also saw him become more involved with giving back to the music education community with judging marching band shows with the SCSBOA as well as his participation with the San Bernardino County Music Educators Association where he is now the President of the organization.

Throughout the years,  Raymond has had the pleasure of learning from such great music educators and musicians as Perry Hall, Doug Bowden, Gary Locke,. Mitch Fennell,  Mark Garrabrandt,  Howie Shear,  Donovan Gray,  and Tim Morrison.
